Chu-Chu

Well the government has finally announced an upgrade to the rail line between Albury and Melbourne.

Not saying that it’s about time. The fact it means we’re going to have to put up with a below average service for another two years is a joke. Add to that, we’re going to have no trains for a year.

Quote “For a litle bit of pain, the benefits will be worth it.” Yeah, maybe, but for a whole year. Maybe, give us the new standard gauge trains first. Then rebuild the line. Buses, what a joke. I’ve just got used to travelling on the train. There’s no way I’m going to put up with taking the kids on a bus.

Well, let’s see if this new service is worth it.

Am I this person? :)

From thewordfortoday.com.au

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
Proverbs 13:20

In his book High Maintenance Relationships, Les Parrott offers us the following advice:
(1) Do you feel anxious when a particular person has called and left a message for you to return? (2) Are you dealing with a relationship that drains you of energy and enthusiasm? (3) Do you dread having to see or talk to a particular person at work or in a social situation? (4) Do you always seek to give, but get nothing in return? (5) Do you keep second-guessing your own performance as a result of interacting with this person? (6) Do you become more self-critical in their presence? (7) Is your creativity blocked or is your clarity of mind hampered by the lingering discomfort of having to deal with them? (8) Do you try to calm yourself after being with this person by eating more, biting your nails, or engaging in some other unhealthy habit? (9) Do you have imaginary conversations or mental arguments in which you defend yourself or try to explain your side of a conflict? (10) Do you feel resentful that this person seems to treat other people better than they treat you? (11) Do you wonder why this person singles you out for criticism but rarely acknowledges what you do well?
If you answer yes, do something about it. ‘Bless those who curse you and pray for those who spitefully use you.’ (Lk 6:28). Respond in an opposite spirit!

The problem with facespazz, and all instant communication these days, is that when you forward or message your friends there is often the temptation to include everyone on your list.

Often these messages contain phrases like “I’m thinking of you”, “We’re friends forever”, “I love you” and so forth.

The question is: Are you really thinking of everyone on your contact list? Do you really love them? Are you friends FOREVER with everyone on your contact list? or are you just adding them there for convience?

Sometimes, the actions we do without thinking leads people in to believing something other than what is there exists, and they get the thinking of getting more out of the relationship. We need to be guarded by our actions and convey our feelings and thoughts correctly and truthfully, so we don’t hurt those we come into contact with because we’ve led them on (as unintentional as it is).

So the question I put to you: Do you really “love” the people you are sending these messages to? Are they really your friends forever? If so, then I envy you because you have way more true friends than I.

Pictures of you

This is the clock up on the wall
This is the story of us all
This is the first sound of a new born child before he starts to crawl

This is the war that’s never won
This is the soldier and his gun
This is the mother waiting by the phone praying for her son

(chorus)
Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Hung up on your wall for the world to see

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Remind us all of what we used to be

Woooah

There is a drug that cures it all
Blocked by the governmental wall
We are the scientists inside the lab just waiting for the call

This earthquake weather has got me shaking
Inside i’m high up and dry

(chorus)
Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Hung up on your wall for the world to see

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Remind us all of what we used to be

Confess to me
Every secret moment
Every stolen promise you’ve believed

Confess to me
All that lies between us
All that lies between you and me

We are the boxers in the ring
We are the bells that never sing
There is a title we cant win no matter how hard we must swing

(chorus)
Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Hung up on your wall for the world to see

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Remind us all of what we could have been

(chorus)
Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Hung up on your wall for the world to see

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Remind us all of what we could have been
What could have been
We could have been

Pictures of you
Pictures of me
Remind us all of what we could have been
What could have been
