Sometimes

You ask me if I love you and I choke on my reply
I’d rather hurt you honestly than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you on what you say or do
I’m only just beginning to see the real you
And sometimes when we touch
the honesty’s too much and I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die
till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride
But through the insecurity some tenderness survives
I’m just another writer, still trapped within my truths
A hesitant prize fighter still trapped within my youth

And sometimes when we touch
the honesty’s too much and I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die
till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

At times I’d like to break you and drive you to your knees
At times I’d like to break through and hold you endlessly
At times I understand you and I know how hard you’ve tried
I’ve watch while love commands you
and I’ve watched love pass you by
At times I think we’re drifters, still searching for a friend
A brother or a sister, but then the passion flares again

And sometimes when we touch
the honesty’s too much and I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die
till we both break down and cry
I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Why the sudden popularity?

Was last Tuesday a slow news day?

Crash Test Dummy.

Well my computer crashed. It’s taken me 2.5 days to get back to a usable state. This included having my laptop pulled to bits and sitting on my desk at work, with the boss saying ‘Ooo, I’ve never seen inside a R51 before’. Good onya AJ. :)

Also, as all comptent IT professionals do, not a single backup in sight. The general concensus from IT nerds around me: ‘Backups are for whimps. We live on the edge.’ Yeah, typical late sipping hoons we are.

Also, I’m a bit reluctant to plug my iPod in due to Josh’s experience.

Anyway, some lessons.

1. 12% of free space on the system drive is not that small.

2. A slow running computer is better than a non running computer.

3. Partition manager is good, just don’t ask it to do 10 jobs at once.

4. There are good, free utilities on the web to help you recover data.

5. Having a spare hard drive with a fresh copy of windows installed is a good idea.

6. Having an external caddy is also a good idea. (These investments I made ages ago are coming in handy)

7. Itunes is much better than bigpond music. At least for recovering music licences.

8. Don’t try to reinstall everything around your boss when he wants to see what Vista can do. (‘Would you like to put Vista on your computer Sean?’) VISTA…. No.

9. Office 2007, the jury is out, but it’s looking ok. As soon as I can find my way around and also find a way to disable the ribbon, I might like it :)

10. When recovering data, don’t forget your three years of emails.

11. Having your Greek text book handy is good when waiting for your computer to copy vast amounts of data (like an hour). Though looking at the blue screen might make more sense.

Here endeth the lesson.
